Hondros completed excavation and installation of the reinforcing steel (rebar) for the remaining building footings and elevator pit. Pouring and finishing concrete at the footers and elevator pit was also completed. Rough-in installation for under slab plumbing and electrical lines began. Removal of spoils (excess excavated material) began.

Hondros began excavation for the building footings adjacent to the Sanctuary. Placement of reinforcing steel (rebar) began after bearing capacity requirements were verified. Rebar placement passed inspections conducted by both our third party and Mecklenburg County inspectors. Dewatering pumps were used to remove rainwater in anticipation of upcoming concrete pours. Excavation for the remaining footings continues.

Week ending February 17th – Connections to the stormwater structures was completed. Fine grading to the building slab was completed and proper compaction has been achieved.
Week beginning February 24th – Hondros’ surveyor staked out the building pad and footings in preparation for upcoming footer excavation. Temporary power has been provided to the construction site.

Week ending February 10th –Wet conditions continued to slow down drying of the building pad preventing re-grading and compaction of the pad.
Week beginning February 17th – Hondros completed installation of the new storm sewer system and began connecting existing downspouts from the Sanctuary to the system.
