Jesus Christ calls us to love God with all our hearts, souls and minds AND to love our neighbors as ourselves. These are our greatest commandments. (Mark 12:30-31)
At Messiah Church, we are committed both individually and corporately to look beyond ourselves to the people who live, work and play in our community and to share the love of Jesus with them. Our Outreach efforts are aligned with Messiah’s mission to “Look up, Look around, and Look outward!”
Our Intentionally Faithful (“IF”) initiative equips and encourages each of us to be engaged in Outreach, sharing Jesus with our neighbors, families, friends, and co-workers with whom we have developed caring relationships.
As a church, we currently work in several Outreach areas to:
- Offer high-quality education for pre-school age children in our community
- Address food insecurity in Greater Charlotte
- Support specific missionaries and Bible translators
- Produce Bibles in braille for the blind
- Sew mission quilts for individuals and families in need here and around the world
