Youth ministry at Messiah Lutheran Church welcomes middle and high school students into a Christ-centered community where faith and friendships grow together.
Our ministry encourages youth to build lasting relationships with one another and with Jesus Christ through engaging Bible study, meaningful service opportunities, and intentional discipleship. Together, we explore God’s Word, serve our neighbors, and strengthen our walk with Christ as we learn what it means to live out our Christian faith every day!

High School Bible Study:
Join us every Sunday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. in our Youth Room for great conversations and fun topics!
Sunday Night Youth Group:
A more relaxed way to study God’s Word and enjoy your peers! This is a class that gives you extra connection through a meal, games, and study. We’ll see you in the Youth Room on Sunday evenings from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. — bring a friend, too!
Families in Faith Formation (F3):
6th, 7th and 8th grades meet each Wednesday evening, September through April, at 6:30 p.m. following the Family Meal. Our focus is to grow in the Word, grow in our relationships, and serve others in this program.
Youth Retreats:
This is a great time to make friends and have fun in Jesus!
VBX-Vacation Bible EXTREME for grades 6th – 8th each summer. Experience your faith through daily service projects and activities that bring our Bible truths to life! (scheduled in conjunction with VBS, where high schoolers are encouraged to volunteer)
Service Opportunities:
All of Messiah’s youth are encouraged to live out their faith in service! Messiah programs that welcome our youth’s service include: acolyting, ushering, choir, youth praise team, tech teams, VBS, Sunday School and helping out with special activities.
Outside projects have been: Operation Christmas Child, Strong Arm Mission (inner city missions), the McDowell project, and outreach efforts to Messiah Preschool families with family devotion packets.
Mission Opportunities:
We want to help the youth at Messiah grow, serve and WITNESS their faith. The McDowell project began some of this growth…and then the Peru mission trip and the Katrina Mission to Mississippi! Since then, youth have taken the Vacation Bible School Program on the road – providing leadership for children in economically challenged churches in Charlotte and Baltimore, MD.
Let’s grow and then share with others the good news of Jesus.
